Designer Algorithm Bag Design Remix

Limited Edition of 100
Handmade in Japan

100 unique intersections for a bag with a hole. In their fourth collaboration on phygital objects, ZEITGUISED (Berlin) teamed up with bag designer Toshiki Yagisawa and his label X-Magazine (Tokyo), crossing digital manufacturing and Japanese craft, and the design languages of ZEITGUISED and Toshiki.

X-Magazine's woven bags, durable and transmissive at once, were treated with a bespoke ZEITGUISED design algorithm. Each bag is made around a hole derived from an individual 3D shape. With the algorithm defining an open-ended design process rather than finite decisions, every shape it produces is unique and unpredicted. The shapes cut virtually through the bags, the cut closed by a transparent foil: a window into the bag's contents, upending the notion that a bag holds your belongings securely, out of sight.

Each bag is handmade in Japan and numbered, with a unique cutout and an individual shamanistic charm, the bag's shape as a 3D print, dangling from the coloured leather handles. Five ZEITGUISED colour schemes, 20 bags each.
